Hollywood has long played host to the dreams of the innocent. Those that envision their name in lights with thousands of adoring fans dripping with envy. That dream for most will inevitably become stained with the tears of shattered hope and lost opportunity. Yet the pilgrimage of the innocent presses forward. This, in part, is the fuel that drives the After Midnight Project machinery. Born in the twilight hours in a dusty home studio it became equal parts talent and tenacity. Having learned the paradox of Hollywood at a young age, Jason Evigan set out to assemble the mechanism that would serve as an outlet for the lost, in a town whose streets are seemingly paved with gold. If you stumble into an alleyway in Hollywood you will discover the city's heart. If you linger there long enough you will find the stories in the darkness that After Midnight Project brings to light. It was a combination of those alleyways and heartache that allowed lead singer, Jason Evigan, to scribe what would become the foundation for After Midnight Project when he penned the single "Take Me Home." Eventually featured in the "Prey" video game, millions of gamers caught the first glimpse into the musings of a collective spirit pining to speak to the masses. The words born in Hollywood found their way to the kids who sit alone at the lunch table in high school and those who wrestle with emotions that paralyze the psyche. In the music they find mutual ground to assemble upon. Their journey is no less arduous than that of After Midnight Project and the band recognized that early on. They discovered a mutual fabric shared with their fans and created a umbrella of comfort for them to assemble under. With Hollywood providing the backdrop, Michigan inserted two more pieces of the puzzle with the addition of Spencer on guitar and Danny on drums. Delivered via our friends to the north, Canadian born TJ brought bass. Rounding out the puzzle, Christian added his guitar in 2006. Shows once frequented by a few grew in enormity based upon spectacular live emotional outpourings and a connection to every spirit that witnessed a live offering. Never comfortable resting on their laurels, the band challenged itself to present bigger and better offerings. The visual aspect of the show became legendary. Videos, theatrics, dancing and impromptu interludes became staples of an After Midnight Project show. Christian and Spencer's frenetic guitarwork became infectious. The rhythm section of Danny and TJ provided the backbone. Together they create an energy so heavy that the crowds cannot help but bounce to. The live presentation in tandem with a tenacious work ethic has garnered the band respect amongst its peers and created a true blueprint for rock success. 2008 started just as busy as it ended for the California Alternative Rock quintet. The fever pitch of its D.I.Y. promotion and live performances culminated in a very James Brown-esq New Years Eve as AMP piloted the new year in on, not one but two, Hollywood stages. Thus solidifying their title as "Hollywood's hardest working band" and setting the tone for 2008. Musically the band may site bands such as Muse for inspiration but work their work ethic is definitely old school and they have the worn out Chuck Taylors to prove it. Universal/Motown seems to be a fine collector of worn out Chuck Taylorsas they stepped in to collect all 5 pairs in Spring, 2008. The storied history of the label, combined with the no-nonsense attitude of the staff, left the band and its team with an easy decision -- they would soon be flying the Universal/Motown flag. After Midnight Project and Restless Management proudly announce that After Midnight Project Have joined the Universal/Motown family. After conquering the national stage the fabled streets of gold back to Hollywood seem like a smooth ride. The alley's still seem so enticing, the pain still so familiar. The desire to tap that familiarity remains. After Midnight Project may be a Hollywood byproduct, yet their hearts lay decisively with the people in the margins and off the beaten pathway. Sing along with After Midnight Project...they'll make you famous. But with less heartache.
