Celebrated Fender® Uke Artist, entertainer, comedian and singer/songwriter, Ukulele Ray, is a San Francisco-born native, and has been hailed as an Andy Warhol, Tiny Tim and P.T. Barnum all rolled into one.
Creating a ukulele out of a Campbell's Soup can (The Warhol Soup-A-Lele) and inventing the "Lunchbox-A-Lele," (a ukulele/lunchbox... suitable for playing and carrying your sandwich and music book), brought Ray to worldwide prominence, with appearances on numerous International, national and local TV, radio, Internet news programs and talkshows, playing his musical Lunchbox-wonders.
A seasoned stage entertainer, after almost 20 years in Las Vegas opening for major headliners, Ukulele Ray is a professional singer, comedian and musician, and does everything from live concerts to fairs and festivals, as well as personal appearances with his band, The KoKoNutz, and his Traveling Wilburys tribute group, "The Traveling Wildberrys."
Ukulele Ray also totes a repertoire of over 1,000 celebrity voice impersonations, adding his voice-over talents to a variety of award-winning radio advertising campaigns and animated shorts, features and documentaries.
As a singer/songwriter, Ukulele Ray has written and recorded hundreds of songs, including his own Mr. Bojangles-style theme song, "Anybody Seen Ukulele Ray;" his tribute song, "My Mom - A Hero Always Be;" and his life-lesson song, "Take It Slow."
Ray's versions of "Over The Rainbow" and "Tiny Bubbles" are top Amazon & iTunes sellers, along with his albums, "My Heart Belongs To Uke," "Makin' Love Ukulele Style," and "Ukulele Ray's Punny Farty Thongs" (his album of comedy song parodies, featuring Arnold's Island, Big 'Ole SUV, Oh, SUZY Pew and Cock-Eyed Girl).
As a commercial songwriter and producer, Ray has written extended jingles for several national and local companies/organizations, including: FreeLife™ International (Livin' The FreeLife™); Saddle Ranch Chop House (Saddle Ranch Cowboy); theme song for the City of Tempe (Tempe Towne); Fort McDowell Adventures (Time Is On Your Side with Jesse Stokes); and "On A Fender® Bender" for Fender® Musical Instruments ukulele division.
Ray produces music through his own label, UKE Got It Records and is a proud member of NAMM, ASCAP and the Tempe Chamber of Commerce. Ray is very involved in the local Phoenix area music scene and frequently lends his talents to numerous community organizations and fundraising events.
