Let's see if we can get Fender to reissue an affordable version of the Bass VI. My only other option is to build one myself from USA Custom Guitar parts. I would much rather get a real one from the company that invented it.
I would love to see an American Standard as well as a Mexican standard. But I would be happy with either. With a few color options.
Let's see how many signatures we can get. |

MIM, CIJ, MIA, I'm in for it either way!
I've been really close on a couple occasions to pulling the trigger on the Schecter...I'll give Fender another year or so. _________________ '08 Jaguar Bass - Olympic White w/Badass II Bridge

| Doesn't look like much interest for it. Looks like I will be building one from available parts. Warmoth is even making them soon, so I hear. |

You are correct. I play both guitar and bass though. In the past I've used a 27" scale baritone tuned A-A, which I loved. I know I will love a 30" bass vi tuned E-E. There is no question in my mind. I don't want the hellcat or the Gretsch bass vi. I want a fender or fender style bass vi. Hopefully under $1500. So Fender if you are reading this... PLEASE reissue it. Even if it's frim the Mexican or Japanese shop.
What makes you say though? |

| You have my vote, I really want one, I would prefer a top quality re-issue. Currently I have a Hellcat VI and there's no comparison with the Fender VI. |

I would buy one at a reasonable cost...no more than $1200. And then only if it were better than the other available options...I already have a Schecter Hellcat VI which is usable but not completely true to the bass VI... I will also buy the Agile VI when it comes out. I don't have the kind of extra income floating around though to justify a $3k guitar so count me out for another Custom Shop reissue. I want a guitar I can play out with not one that will hang on the wall in a display case. I'd also consider a Squier Bass VI if it weren't too cheesy.
I don't know why the demand for a "top quality reissue" when the Custom Shop Bass VI's are still readily available if you do a quick Google search for them...or buy vintage if you aren't convinced that the Custom Shop was good enough (I have no idea, never played it).
Personally before building a USACG VI I would wait and see how the Agile VI comes out...should be at a very good price point ($500-600-ish) of pretty decent quality if there other guitars that I've played are any show for it. |
