From late-night and daytime sets to in-studio visits and digital exclusives, Fender in Focus gathers the best of the week's performances from Fender players.

This week: the legendary Sting, Spoon, Arkells and U.K. indie-poppers the Japanese House.

Sting: “One Fine Day”

Rock icon Sting taped a few performances on The Late Late Show with James Corden in early 2017 to celebrate his new studio album, 57th & 9th, and ran through his latest single, “One Fine Day”. Of course, Sting led the proceedings with his unmistakable Precision Bass.

Spoon: “Hot Thoughts”

Jimmy Kimmel Live got rocking on International Women’s Day with Austin, Texas, indie stalwarts Spoon. The band has an album called Hot Thoughts coming out on March 17, and they played the funky title track for the raucous audience. Check out that Telecaster Thinline frontman Britt Daniel played, too.

Arkells: “Savannah”

Having released their fourth full-length album, Morning Report, in late 2016, Canadian rock outfit Arkells played a World Café set for WXPN in Philadelphia, where they pulled out the new track “Savannah”. For the Fender-centric show, vocalist Max Kerman played his Telecaster Thinline, while guitarist Mike DeAngelis had a Jazzmaster and bassist Nick Dika kept the low-end going on his Precision Bass.

The Japanese House: “Face Like Thunder”

Portland’s KINK hosted British indie-pop act the Japanese House on the heels of the band’s latest EP, Swim Against the Tide. And throughout the entire set, frontwoman Amber Bain played a Sky Burst Metallic American Elite Stratocaster. Interestingly enough, the lefty also played the right-handed guitar upside-down.
