This week, it's the Who, We Are Scientists, Daddy Issues and Slowdive.
The Who: "You Better You Bet”
In support of their current tour that includes a six-night run at Cesear's Palace in Las Vegas, British rock gods the Who stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon for a rousing rendition of the Face Dances classic "You Better You Bet". As Roger Daltrey delivered the throaty vocal, guitarist Pete Townshend gave fans a look at his trademak windmill technique on his Fender Stratocaster.
We Are Scentists: "Buckle”
New York indie masters We Are Scientists took to a rooftop in Madrid, Spain, for BalconyTV, and they decided to feature the single "Buckle", which comes off the 2016 album Helter Seltzer. It's hard to miss, but singer/guitarist Keith Murray stood front and center with his Dick Dale Malibu SCE acoustic.
Daddy Issues: "I'm Not”
Nashville trio Daddy Issues were caught in hometown venue the Basement East playing the track "I'm Not" by OurVinylCheck. For the song, which comes off the 2017 album Deep Dream, frontwoman Jenna Moynihan played her weathered Duo-Sonic, while bassist Jenna Mitchell had her slick Jaguar Bass.
Slowdive: "Sugar for the Pill”
U.K. shoegaze pioneers Slowdive have reunited after a long hiatus, and they are currently making the rounds in support of their self-titled fourth studio album. That road went through the Santa Monica, Calif., studios of KCRW for a few tracks, and you can check out singer/guitarist Neil Halstead on his Telecaster andguitarist Christian Savill playing a shiny golden Jazzmaster above.
