From late-night and daytime sets to in-studio visits and digital exclusives, Fender in Focus gathers the best of the week's performances from Fender players.

This week, it's Thurston Moore, the Joy Formidable, Haim and Sylvan Esso.

Thurston Moore: "Smoke of Dreams”

Sonic Youth founder Thurston Moore showcased some of his new solo tunes from his latest album, Rock N Roll Consciousness, with a brief set for New York's WFUV. And of course, Moore had a Fender Jazzmaster in tow the entire time. Here, he plays the single "Smoke of Dreams".

The Joy Formidable: "A Heavy Abacus”

The Joy Formidable stopped by the KUTX studios in Austin and pulled out the classic "A Heavy Abacus" from 2011's The Big Roar. During their performance, frontwoman Ritzy Bryan had her Stratocaster slung across her chest.

Haim: "That Don't Impress Me Much”

While on the road supporting the album Something to Tell You, the Haim sisters found themselves in the studios of Australian outlet Triple J Radio with a trick up their collective sleeves. As Este Haim kept a steady rhythm with her Precision Bass, check out the trio cover Shania Twain's mid-1990s hit, "That Don't Impress Me Much".

Sylvan Esso: "Die Young”

Indie pop duo Sylvan Esso recorded a session at Echo Mountain Studio in Ashville, N.C., with a slew of supporting artists. One of those was Jenn Wasner of Wye Oak and Flock of Dimes, and she led the low-end charge with her Mustang Bass on the hit single "Die Young".
