Sections
French phenom FKJ is known for creating lush soundscapes from scratch all by himself, regularly with a guitar, bass, keyboard and other instruments nearby, ready to grab anything that will make the track pop.
Seeing FKJ’s improvisational magic live is a sight to behold, as he often starts with a simple beat that continues to grow and grow into a complex house anthem by the time he’s finished.
You can hear it on his steady stream of releases, ranging from the 2013 EP Time for a Change to the vibey 2020 single iFeel. And that’s why the American Acoustasonic Jazzmaster is the perfect tool for FKJ to access the various sounds he needs to keep surprising the masses.
In this edition of Fender’s Re-Creation series, FKJ welcomes the viewer into his process by using the American Acoustasonic Jazzmaster to perform a stripped-down version of his Time for a Change song, “Instant Need.”
Flanked by only his cat on the couch, we get a look at FKJ using the American Acoustasonic Jazzmaster’s hollow body to hammer out a beat before engaging its various acoustic and electric voices via the Blend Knob, all resulting in a head-nodding hit.
