This week: it's the great Elvis Costello, U.K. alternative rockers Wolf Alice, Baltimore-based dream pop pioneers Beach House and singer/songwriter K. Flay.
Elvis Costello: “Alison"
Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Elvis Costello was the musical guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live and he dove way back into his catalog with a performance of "Alison," the smash hit off 1977's My Aim is True. But this version was something special, as Costello flanked himself with two backup singers and strummed out the song with only his trusty Jazzmaster slung across his chest.
Wolf Alice: “Don’t Delete the Kisses"
U.K. alternative rockers Wolf Alice also stripped down one of their songs for a brief set for Seattle's KEXP. With frontwoman Ellie Roswell singing softly into the microphone, guitarist Joff Oddie played the single "Don't Delete the Kisses" from the band's latest album, Visions of a Life using his Fender Jaguar.
Beach House: "Used to Be"
Baltimore's Beach House filmed a quick, intimate set for La Blogothèque, playing to a group of lucky fans inside someone's living room. With guitarist Alex Scally playing his Stratocaster, the band pulled out a few tracks from 2010's herlded Teen Dream, including the ethereal "Walk in the Park” and “Zebra.”
K. Flay: “Blood in the Cut"
Kristine Flaherty, who is betteer known asK. Flay, stopped by the SiriusXM studios in New York City with her Paramount PM-2 Parlor to play her buzz-worthy single, "Blood in the Cut," a beauty that comes off her major label debut album, Every Where is Some Where.
