From late-night and daytime sets to in-studio visits and digital exclusives, Fender in Focus gathers the best of the week's performances from Fender players.
This week: John Mayer, Bruno Mars and the soulful JP Cooper.
John Mayer: "Love On the Weekend"
Singer/guitarist John Mayer stepped in front of Jimmy Fallon’s cameras for a performance of “Love On the Weekend”, the slow-burning first single from his latest album, The Search for Everything. Mayer sported his trusty, Fender Custom Shop-built Stratocaster, known by those who know it as “the Black One.” Fender’s Custom Shop released a Limited Edition scratch-for-scratch recreation of Mayer’s black Strat in 2010.
Bruno Mars: "24K Magic"
Pop superstar Bruno Mars continued a relentless media schedule supporting his third album, 24K Magic, with a stop on NBC's The Voice. Flanked by his usual group of backup singers, Mars got the audience jumping with a performance of the infectious title track. During the appearance, regular Mars bassist Jamaero Artis kept the low-end bouncing with his Fender Jazz Bass and guitarist Phred Brown added a funky riff on his Stratocaster.
JP Cooper: "One More Time"/"Again"
Soulful British singer/guitarist JP Cooper appeared on BBC1’s Live Lounge with a beautiful hi-gloss Telecaster to perform a mash-up of Craig David’s “One More Time” and Fetty Wap’s “Again.”
