Sections
From late-night and daytime sets to in-studio visits and digital exclusives, Fender in Focus gathers the best of the week's performances from Fender players.
This week, it's Mastodon, Fleet Foxes, Saint Motel and Catfish and the Bottlemen.
Mastodon: "Show Yourself"
Atlanta metal lords Mastodon stopped by the set of Conan in support of their latest album, Emperor of Sand, and the quartet did not disappoint with a ripping performance of "Show Yourself". Brent Hinds' guitar work is always on point, but Troy Sanders takes things to the next level, staring into the camera with crazy eyes as he delivers the growling refrain and unleashes a rumbling bassline on his signature Jaguar Bass.
Fleet Foxes: "Mearcstapa"
Seattle-based folk rock band Fleet Foxes were featured in the KEXP studios while promoting their 2017 album, Crack-Up. With bassist Christian Wargo playing a worn Precision Bass complemented by a pair of Jazzmasters from frontman Robin Pecknold and guitarist Skyler Skjelset, watch Fleet Foxes' ethereal version of "Mearcstapa".
Saint Motel: "Destroyer"
Saint Motel offered a bouyant performance of the track "Destroyer" at the recent TRNSMT Festival in Scotland, a song that comes off their 2016 offering, saintmotelevision. Backed by their horn section, as usual, guitarist Aaron Sharp played a slick Jaguar HH, while bassist Dak Lerdamornpong held down the low end with his Jaguar Bass.
TRENDING TRACK
And of course, Catfish and the Bottlemen had to play their song "Glasgow" while they were on stage at the TRNSMT Festival. This time around, frontman Van McCann delivered the song solo, holding his Telecaster as the massive crowd sang along with him.
