From late-night and daytime sets to in-studio visits and digital exclusives, Fender in Focus gathers the best of the week's performances from Fender players.
This week (all the way from the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival): it's Radiohead, Bastille, Two Door Cinema Club and the amazing composer Hans Zimmer and his orchestra.
Radiohead: "Paranoid Android"
Yes, they had some technical difficulties during their first weekend headlining set at Coachella, but once everything was running smoothly Radiohead showed why they are one of the most fascinating bands in the world. As night fell in Indio, Calif., the U.K. vanguards put together a set that had the capacity crowd swaying along to every word. Here, Radiohead plays the hit "Paranoid Android", with guitarist Jonny Greenwood playing his well-worn Fender Telecaster.
Bastille: "Good Grief"
Bastille released their second album, Wild World, in mid-2016, and they pulled out several of those new tracks during their Saturday set, including the bouncy and joyous "Good Grief". Watch the guys roll through a rendition as bassist Will Farquarson holds down the low-end with his Jazz Bass and multi-instrumentalist Kyle Simmons adds flourishes with his Jazzmaster.
Two Door Cinema Club: "Bad Decisions"
Irish indie rockers Two Door Cinema Club were riding high off their critically acclaimed third album, Gameshow, in the California sun. As frontman Alex Trimble played his Stratocaster and unleashed his trademark falsetto, the crowd jumped up and down with this infectious single "Bad Decisions".
Hans Zimmer: "Inception"
People were shocked when all-star composer Hans Zimmer was annnouced as part of the Coachella lineup, and he didn't disappoint. Enlisting a large orchestra, which inlcuded Nile Marr on his Fender Jaguar and Yolanda Charles on a Dimension Bass V, Zimmer treated the audience to a taste of some of his best scores, including something both beautiful and haunting from the movie Inception.
