Four Artists Reinterpret a 60s Classic for The Player II Series

“All Day and All of the Night.” It’s one of the most iconic riffs of all time, establishing The Kinks as leaders of the British Invasion and laying the foundation for punk, metal and alt rock. Now, in the hands of four innovative artists, it’s been transformed into a modern day anthem for the all new Player II Series.

The second iteration of our bestselling line of guitars and basses, the Player II Series features vital versions of our most popular models with contemporary upgrades for the players of today – including modern “C” necks with smooth rolled edges, the return of rosewood fingerboards and new vintage colors unearthed from the vaults.

We paired four of our favorite contemporary artists with each of the hero models – Wallows on the Stratocaster, Julien Baker on the Telecaster, DIIV on the Jaguar and April Kae on the Jazz Bass – and challenged them to reinterpret “All Day and All of the Night” in their own style. The launch film captures the ethos of the campaign tagline, “A new kind of player,” with each artist playing their rendition of the classic song on curated sets that evoke the vibe of their respective model.

From Julien Baker’s stirring ballad to DIIV’s ethereal spin, the performances are a reminder that a Fender – much like The Kinks’ timeless riff – transcends genre and generation.
