Six Points of Inspection
"We take great care for our Mod Shop customers," said Fender Executive Vice President of Operations Ed Magee. "To ensure that all Mod Shop instruments are exactly what our customers want, there are six points of hands-on inspection, from before and after the buffing process, during the assembly of the body and neck, and during the wiring and setup process."
After the instrument is finished, they are all evaluated a final time by certified Fender inspectors before being packed and shipped to your doorstep.
Lefties Galore
The Fender Mod Shop offers a wide-range of left-handed models you might not be able to find anywhere else. This includes left-handed necks from the American Professional Series and the American Original Series.
In addition, a left-handed Jazzmaster can be hard to come by, but not with the Mod Shop, where you can build your own and choose from multiple colors and other options.

Each Mod Shop order comes with a personalized spec sheet, so you know you're getting exaclty what your ordered.
How It Works
Start by choosing a base platform - a right- or left-handed Stratocaster, Telecaster, Jazzmaster, Precision Bass or Jazz Bass - and from there, select from a wide-ranging menu of eye-catching body colors, pickups, pickguard materials, fingerboards, hardware and bridge.
From there, the Mod Shop becomes more of a tactile endeavor, as the work order is sent directly to the Fender factory where a team of builders assemble your customized instrument by hand.
