Tuning Tip: Pick & Pluck

When tuning your acoustic or electric guitar it's important to know the right way to get your tuner to hear the string.

According to Fender Play instructor Matt Lake, it takes a little finesse.

"Your tuner needs to hear the string your playing, so don't pluck too softly," he said. "And don't play too hard, either, or the tuner will read too sharp or out of tune. You want to get it just right."
