The Made in Japan International Color Series revisits a rare coordinate in the logbooks of Fender® history and puts a bright, unique and beloved series back on the map. The bold and captivating International Color collection originally debuted over four decades ago and was produced for less than one year. Introduced in 1981 with appointments steeped in '70s style alongside a fresh palette of colors named for exotic and provocative spots on the map, the International Colors are now coveted by collectors and prized for their exotic beauty and rarity. Available once again in a fittingly limited run, the Made in Japan International Color Series combines vibrant vintage Fender vibe with Made in Japan craftsmanship to produce a transcontinental treasure.
Changing course from the traditional blueprint, these guitars boast resonant basswood bodies, 9.5" radius maple or rosewood fingerboards and medium jumbo frets to accommodate more adventurous playing. The '70s "U" shape neck is outfitted just like the original with convenient "Bullet" style truss rod nut, "F" Stamped ™ tuners and even the serial number on the headstock face. Vintage-style single-coil Tele® pickups and 3-saddle bridge with chrome barrel saddles deliver iconic Fender tone and feel.
Easy on the eyes with exceptional playability and bonafide vintage Fender tone, the Made in Japan International Color Telecaster® is a retro beauty with select refinements for a supremely comfortable playing experience.
