ELECTRIC FEEL, ACOUSTIC TONE
Quinn recently played a Highway Series model at a concert in New York’s Central Park and came away with glowing reviews, noting that it didn’t sacrifice any tone from the thinner body style while still holding up to the rigors of a full set.
“Because of the neck, it feels a little more like playing an electric guitar,” he said. “The string tension, I would say, is like an acoustic guitar, so if you’re used to that, that’ll feel familiar. And I actually was expecting it to be a full-bodied acoustic guitar, but it’s more ergonomic and lighter.
“We play for like two-and-a-half hours every night. It can be heavy, but this is super-light.”
As Quinn realized, the Highway Series represents not a revision, but a re-imagining of the acoustic experience, inviting players to throw away the map and get lost on the open road of creativity.
