From late-night and daytime sets to in-studio visits and digital exclusives, Fender in Focus gathers the best of the week's performances from Fender players.
This week, it's the War on Drugs, Børns, Cloud Nothings and Alt-J.
The War on Drugs: "Pain"
With a new album called A Deeper Understanding on the way (Aug. 25), the War on Drugs showcased their latest single, "Pain", on Jimmy Kimmel Live. The soaring track played well in front of the live audience, with frontman Adam Granduciel taking the lead on his Fender Jazzmaster.
Børns: "Faded Heart"
It's been a little bit since Børns had released new music, but that happened this week with the single "Faded Heart". The band also appeared on The Late Late Show with James Corden as the musical guest to play the track, which featured guitarist Connor Doyle on his American Professional Jazzmaster and bassist Haley Jane on her American Professional Precision Bass.
Cloud Nothings: "Modern Act"
Appearing at Lollapalooza in Chicago over the weekend, indie-rock band Cloud Nothings featured tracks from their latest album, Life Without Sound, including the single "Modern Act". There was definitely some Fender love on stage, as bassist TJ Duke had an American Professional P Bass and and guitarist Chris Brown rocked his American Professional Jazzmaster.
Alt-J: "3WW"
During a stop in Los Angeles for a two-night stint at the Shrine, Alt-J took some time to pop into KCRW's studios to play a brief set that included "3WW" off their latest album, Relaxer. And as is typically the case, frontman Joe Newman played a Fender Telecaster throughout it all.
