Versatile by Design: The Acoustasonic Player Telecaster - Episode One

The American Acoustasonic® Telecaster® changed the way people around the world thought about the relationship between the acoustic and electric guitar in 2019.

And Fender tripled down on that notion with the subsequent release of the American Acoustasonic Stratocaster and Jazzmaster.

While all three of those models are ideal for both the studio and the stage, the brand-new Acoustasonic® Player Telecaster® simplifies a few of the previous accoutrements that made the original American Acoustasonics instant hits.

“For the three years that the American Acoustasonic has been out, we’ve seen how people are playing these instruments and what they really want out of them,” said Fender Executive Vice President of Products Justin Norvell. “We felt it would be a good augmentation to the line to have a simplified version.”

Built in a new factory in Ensenada, Mexico, the Acoustasonic Player Telecaster is perfectly outfitted for any player.

STREAMLINED OPERATION: Furthering the Fender legacy of craftsmanship, innovation and purposeful design, we’ve streamlined the Acoustasonic Player Telecaster to feature a set of three “best-of” voice pairs controlled only by the Blend Knob and a simplified 3-Way Switch.

THE 3-WAY SWITCH: Flip between extremes. The Acoustasonic Player Telecaster features 3 unique voice pairs for a total of 6 “best-of” acoustic and electric voicings that can be played solo or blended to create all-new sounds. Toggle between pairings and positions using the simplified 3-Way Switch – then spin the Blend Knob to pivot between ‘A’ and ‘B’ voicings and unlock an impossible range of sounds.

THE BLEND KNOB: The Acoustasonic Player Telecaster is our most streamlined, stage-ready Acoustasonic guitar yet – an all-in-one creative tool that combines iconic acoustic voicings and big electric tones with a powerful Blend Knob to pivot between the two. Whether you’re looking for wild new sounds or a fresh creative spark, a spin of the Blend Knob unlocks something new at every turn.

THE VOLUME KNOB: The Volume Knob controls the overall output of the Acoustasonic Player Telecaster.

FENDER X FISHMAN®-DESIGNED ACOUSTIC ENGINE: Two pickup systems work together to create the Fender and Fishman®-designed Acoustic Engine, which optimizes the natural sound of the Acoustasonic Player Telecaster and then modifies the resonance to deliver three unique voice pairs. A simplified 3-Way Switch flips between acoustic and electric tones, while the Blend Knob pivots between the ‘A’ and ‘B’ voicings for endless combinations.

PICKUPS: The Acoustasonic Player Telecaster features two Fender and Fishman®-designed pickups – the Undersaddle Piezo and the modern N4 Noiseless™.

NEW COLORS: The Acoustasonic Player Telecaster comes in bold new colors like Butterscotch Blonde, Shadow Burst and Arctic White – plus more neutral tones, like Brushed Black.

At the end of the day, the Acoustasonic Player Telecaster continues the model’s commitment to igniting inspiration.
